We had a total of eight Dallastown Area High School (DAHS) students apply for the 2024 Daren M Hidalgo Scholarship. The memorial scholarship committee decided to award a scholarship to both Corinne Healy and Helena Trauger. Corinne was a member of the Orchestra Chamber where she played the viola. She is an American Legion Auxiliary member and has provided extensive support for numerous veteran’s causes. Corinne has delivered marketing assistance to American Legion Region 7 by creating videos to advertise fundraising rides. She is constantly supporting local motorcycle rides which benefit veterans in the area. She will be going to Millersville University to attend their Media Arts Production Program. Corinne aspires to become a film and animation editor. Helena Trauger was the Concertmaster of the DAHS Orchestra & String Ensemble. She is a distinguished violinist and has also played on the York Youth Symphony Orchestra. Helena joined the school yearbook staff during her senior year and become the Editor. She excelled academically as demonstrated by attaining the Distinguished Honor Roll all four years. Helena will be attending Penn State University to pursue a double major in music performance and philosophy. She plans to pursue a career as a lawyer.
