We had a total of twelve Dallastown Area High School (DAHS) students apply for the 2026 Daren M Hidalgo Memorial Scholarship.  The memorial scholarship committee decided to award a scholarship to both Hailey Markey and Charlotte Wolfsheimer.  Hailey played Dallastown girls varsity lacrosse all four years of high school.  She was selected to be the team captain for her senior year.  The lacrosse team won county championships in both 2024 and 2025.  Hailey earned all-county honors in three consecutive years. She was a member of the Mu Alpha Theta math honor society and on the Distinguished Honor Roll throughout her high school years.  She has worked in her family’s business, J-Mar Farms since she was 12 years old.  She teaches the younger workers how to prep the fruits and vegetables for sale.  She has mastered teaching other employees outstanding customer service skills.  Hailey aspires to be a registered nurse and will be attending York College of Pennsylvania in the fall.

Charlotte Wolfsheimer was a member of the Student Council starting her freshmen year.  She also participated in Future Business Leaders of America (FLBA), One Love Club, Mini-THON and the Spanish Club.  Charlotte demonstrated excellent leadership skills in all her extracurricular activities.  She served as President of her high school class and the school FBLA.  Charlotte served as Vice President for the One Love Club and the Student Council.  She was on the Distinguished Honor Roll all four years and on a member of the National Honor Society.  Charlotte served as a CARES Ambassador where she taught and reinforced the virtues of CARES.  Her senior year she placed first in the advanced accounting test at the FBLA regional conference. Charlotte also played on the Girls Varsity Lacrosse Team throughout high school.  Despite a busy school schedule, she worked as a host at Cracker Barrel over the past two years.  Charlotte will be attending University of North Caroline in Wilmington to pursue a degree in Finance.  She hopes to use her knowledge of finance to help individuals and organizations make informed financial decisions, and support initiatives that create opportunities for underrepresented populations.
